How to choose a preceptor placement service

Not all placement services are equal. Here’s how to vet one before you commit a term and a fee to it.

Vet on these

  • Verified, scope-matched preceptors — licensed and certified for your exact track, not just a name
  • Real paperwork — they sign the affiliation agreement and handle Typhon and CastleBranch, not just an introduction
  • Pay-when-matched + a written guarantee — you shouldn’t pay before you’re placed
  • School-specific knowledge — they should know Chamberlain’s process (Typhon, CastleBranch, the three-denial rule), not generic forms
  • Transparency — clear fees, honest timelines, and no fabricated reviews or guarantees of outcomes the school controls

Red flags

Upfront payment before any match, vague ‘we’ll find someone’ promises with no process, invented star ratings, or pressure tactics. A credible service is specific about how it works and what it can and can’t control.

How we measure up

Chamberlain-specific from day one, verified preceptors, full paperwork handled, match-first with a 14-day commitment, and honest about what we don’t control. Independent — not affiliated with Chamberlain University.

Questions

Answered.

How do I know the preceptor is legitimate?

Ask how they verify license, certification, and scope match, and who signs the affiliation agreement. We confirm credentials and handle the site agreement before you start.

Should I pay before being matched?

No. A trustworthy service matches you first and is paid once a preceptor is secured.
